Holy
Week Schedule
After a particularly short
Epiphany season, we begin our Lenten observances with our Ash
Wednesday Eucharist on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m. This year's
theme is My Soul waits form Psalm 13, "I wait for the Lord, my
soul waits, an din his word I hope."
The theme is particularly apropos
considering this is the last Lent and Easter we will celebrate
in our current worship space. We hope that after so many
years of meaningful and sincere worship, this season will have
special poignancy for everyone.
The Holy Week schedule will follow
the well-known pattern beginning with special services for
Palm/Passion Sunday and continuing with a Maundy Thursday
Eucharist, the Tre Ore beginning at noon on Good Friday, a
tenebrae service Good Friday evening, and an Easter Vigil on
Holy Saturday.
Easter services will be celebrated
at 8:00 and 11:00 a.m. and again this year, the "flowering
cross" will be the centerpiece of our Easter decorations.
Gardeners in our congregation might even have time to plant
flowers especially for this beautiful decorative addition to our
Easter worship.
