
Ten projects are available to choose from:
Crafts and Sewing: Work on a variety of simple sewing and knitting projects to benefit people in need. Sewing knowledge or experience is helpful but not necessary.
Braes Interfaith Ministries: Work at our social ministry coalition that helps provide food, clothing and household items for people in need. We may sort food, clothing, baby supplies, etc. or work in the garden, which provides fresh vegetables for those in need of food.
Letter Writing: Prepare letters of advocacy for hunger issues and also more personal letters to individuals in need of encouragement.
Neighborhood Cleanup: Help beautify Salem's neighborhood by raking leaves, picking up trash, cutting down weeds, planting flowers, etc.
Home Help: Help with yard work and possibly some light fix-it projects at homes of members who need some extra assistance.
Computer Recycling: Help staff a drop-off location for community residents to recycle their used hardware computer for free.
The Gathering Place: Help for a few hours at a neighborhood facility for people who suffer from mental illness.
Prayer Team: Support Salem Serving Day participants and recipients with prayer during Salem Serving Day.
On-site Support: Help with the on-site logistics of running Salem Serving Day, including preparing and serving lunch, setting up or taking down tables, staffing check-in areas and other tasks.
On-site Child Care: Care for infants, toddlers and young children of Salem Serving Day participants in Salem's nursery.
