Staff 

 

The Rev. David A. Roschke is our Senior Pastor.  He leads our staff team and is a recognized church leader.  He has been a long-time leader in ecumenical and interfaith ventures.  Early in his ministry, he also developed an English-speaking ecumenical congregation in Stavanger, Norway and edited a Lutheran newspaper in St. Louis.  He is a graduate of the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.  He and his wife Jennifer have three grown children, Daniel (and his wife Heather), Timothy and Jonathan, and one grandson, Micah.

 

 

 

 

Amanda Faucett is our Director of Educational Ministries.  She is responsible for developing and implementing Salem's educational ministry, primarily with children and youth, including oversight for Salem ALIVE! (our Sunday morning educational program), our confirmation ministry, and Camp Salem, or summer day camp.  She also maintains our Web site.  Amanda is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.  She and her husband James are native Houstonians and are enjoying life with their son Jake while expecting another child.  She is also a third-generation member of Salem.

 

 

 

Sharon Kovar is our Office Manager.  Also a native of Houston, Sharon coordinates ministry in the church office and oversees use of our facilities.  She produces our weekly worship folders and monthly newsletter and coordinates our volunteer workforce.  Involved in various community activities, she is affiliated with the Junior Chamber of Commerce and has been honored with Life Membership in Junior Chamber International.

 

 

Dr. Margaret Flowers is our Director of Music Ministry.  Meg (as she is known around Salem) oversees our music ministry.  She directs the choirs and instrumental ensembles.  A native Houstonian, Meg received her bachelors degree from Vassar College and Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University.  She was involved in the design and purchase of a pipe organ at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston, C. B. Fisk, Opus 99.  She is affiliated with the American Guild of Organists, the Association of Lutheran Church Musicians, the Association of Anglican Musicians, the American Choral Directors Association and the Texas Choral Directors Association.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Beatriz Pimentel is our organist and pianist.  A wonderfully talented musician, Beatriz received a doctorate in Piano Performance from the University of Houston in December of 2004.  A native of Brazil, Beatriz also teaches piano to children.

 

 

Marianne Keele is our Part-time Secretary.  She answers the phone and assists with other administrative tasks. 

Lito Guevara is our sexton.  He maintains our facilities and manages the upkeep and appearance of the buildings and grounds, inside and out.
